Christmas Parties & Weddings

This last week Allen and I went to Olive Garden with Jason and Danni (Jason and Allen work together). Danni use to work at Olive Garden, so they have a few gift cards that they used on us. We went to the downtown one and afterwards we walked to Temple Square to see the lights. It was so nice to not have the kids, they spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Ackerson's. The next morning we went and picked up the kids and then went to Home Depot and picked up a tree...finally. I was planning on going to Enrichment night later on, but Allen and I totally forgot about his work Christmas party. Our friends Chad and Megean were able to watch the kids for us on short notice. Carson absolutely idolizes Chad...or is it his gaming system? He loves to hang out over there and play all their cool games. Ellie likes to boss their little girl Ashlin around. Ashlin is a little younger than Ellie and they are so funny to watch. Sometimes they are so sweet together and other times they fight over every little thing, depending on whose house they are at and whose toys they are playing with...they each have a tendency to over protect their toys.

The Centerville City Work Party was held at a Country Club in Farmington. The food was good and the entertainment was cute. They had a couple of brothers that were 12 and 9 that played a few different instruments each and that was really interesting. Around 8:30 p.m. we decided we should go and pick up the kids.

Friday morning we sent Carson off to preschool and then my mom came up to watch Ellie and Allen and I drove down to the Timpanogos Temple to see Donna (Allen's sister) get married to Bevan Hawkins. It was a beautiful ceremony and I didn't lose it until the end. The sealer talked about our family members that have passed on that were there with us and it made me think about my sister and how much I miss her. She has been gone for almost 8 years and it makes me sad that my kids wont know her, Allen said the other day that he doesn't really remember her either. After the sealing we all went outside and did the pictures and then they had a wonderful luncheon at the North Hampton House in American Fork. It was so good!

After the lunch we drove home to relieve mom and to take a nap. Then we got the kids ready in their new Christmas Clothes and headed back down to American Fork for the Reception. The decorations were beautiful and everything was perfect. The food reminded me of our receptioon, we had chicken salad sandwiches, fruit, slush drink, Donna had cheese cake and we had chocolate dipped strawberries. Donna and Bevan didn't waste any time getting out of there, Bevan didn't even say goodbye to his mom. She said she felt like Steve Martin on Father of the Bride...so sad. They left Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m. to Hawaii.
