December Happenings
Carson peeling potatoes
Part of our Christmas Village. The kids and I love our Christmas Village. Each year we try to add another piece to it. I think Allen may be building us a special bench for it next year since it is getting out of control. Half of it sits on our console table and the other half is on our kitchen bench.
Goodies...I am totally burned out on making goodies.
Ellie is always rearranging the village people.

Thanksgiving, Doctors, and getting ready for Christmas
I have been forgetting my camera for major events lately. I need to keep a disposable in the van or something.
We spent Thanksgiving this year up at the Ackerson Cabin. It was a small turnout compared to years past, but we had a good time. Carson thought there would be a lot of snow up there so he wore his snow boots, Ellie wore a dress, tights and church shoes. After all the yummy dinner the kids took off to go down the sledding hill which was a mixture of mud and snow. Even Ellie had to go up and down. She and Emma were really cute together. They play really well with one another. Carson and Bentley were pretty good too. They both hopped on a long sled and would take turns "driving" it down the hill. They only crashed about every other time, but they would both jump up laughing, so that is always good.
Friday was a good day. We did some chores around the house and then around 10:00 a.m. Ellie and I decided to see if there were any good deals still available. We went to Roberts and bought some cricut cartridges and then headed over to Walmart and got a few things. After that we took the kids to see Planet 51 at the theaters. We came home and had some good bonding time together. Saturday was spent mostly at my parents watching the BYU vs. Utah game. My parents were in Michigan visiting Tara and her family, but we still went over to use their cable. Thank goodness BYU won or we would have had one grumpy daddy. I could really care less who wins, I learn towards Utah because I use to work there, but I really don't cheer one way or another until after the game...then I of course cheer for the victor.
I took Carson into the Allergist yesterday. It was the saddest think I have ever seen. He is terrified of needles and hates to have the doctor look in his throat and use that popsicle stick to hold down his tongue. He has a horrible gag reflex. So, when they made him take off his shirt and lay on his belly I knew if was going to be a bad thing. They pricked him with 40 different things that each had a different substance to make him react to see if he was allergic to it. Then, he had to lay there for 15 mins. and not scratch them. You would have thought he was about to die. He was squirming every which way and the noise he was making was pretty interesting too. After a very long 15 mins. the doctor came back in and took a look. It looked like he had been stung by about 20 different bees. Some of the spots were huge and others not too bad, but still very noticeable. Come to find out he is allergic to a few different weeds and trees and GRASS! How is the possible? There is grass everywhere!
I found out that I am still not getting enough oxygen when I am sleeping, even with the cpap machine, so the Home care people are going to be coming back in to up the pressure. I am still really fatigue during the day and my body always feels like I have just ran a marathon. I wake up and I am stiff and I go to bed stiff. It is so frustrating.

Kids pictures
I love getting the kids' pictures taken. My good friend Brittany took these pictures right before C's baptism. I am glad that I called her when I did, if I would've waited I wouldn't have been able to have her take them. Two years ago she and her husband adopted alittle girl named Chloe, then found out that they were pregnant. Chloe and Ada are about 20 months apart. This week they got a call from Chloe's birth mom telling them that she was pregnant again and wanted them to take the new baby...Ada is 4 months old today and the new baby is due in 3 or 4 weeks. Wow! So, she will be dedicating her time to her babies and won't be taking any pictures for a while.
The above picture is probably my favorite. In that one brief moment Carson is actually looking out for Ellie instead or fighting with her and Ellie is actually accepting his help. Both of our children and very stubborn and hard headed and it has made for some very stressful days in our home.
Little piggies.
Sweet little Ellie.
Could they really love each other? Ellie was having some major issues with her right eye in these pics.
Mr. Eight! His first cub scout activity was going to a haunted house, he was not too thrilled about that, but told me that he had a buddy wait outside with him. I think one of the leaders saw the fear in his eyes and made it seem like he needed Carson to stay outside with him. **I just ordered our Christmas cards, so if you want one this year pass along your address to me.

Happy Halloween
I am so bummed that I cannot find my camera. Luckily Allen can take pictures with his phone. Ellie the little mermaid and her cheesy smile and then Vampires don't smile. We made Ackerson Hash for dinner and then took the kids out a little early since there was so much hype about drunk drivers. The kids always like to give the candy out to the kids, so once there made their haul they were happy to give out the candy. Posted by Missy at 12:06 PM 1 comments

Baptism Day
Carson, Bentley, and Jacob Ackerson-their first Christmas. I think it was Great Grandma Allen that gave all the 2001 babies these santa socks and hats. There were a lot of babies born this year on Allen's side.
Eight years later and those same 3 Ackerson boys got baptized. We were able to go up to Heber and join Jacob and Bentley. It was such a nice day. Each of the moms got to spotlight their son and thankfully I didn't pass out. I think I just need to start small and work up to a bigger group. Carson took a little prompting to get in the water, but after Allen helped him out of the font he wanted to do it again. We need to start working on thank you cards. I am going to have Carson write them, so that may take a while to get through them all. I am so happy that Allen is a Priesthood holder and that he was able to baptize Carson and be such a good example to our children. I am glad I have such wonderful Sister-in-laws who helped with the food and taking pictures since I forgot my camera. Kim, Heather and I coordinated the program, announcements, and everything else all by phone or e-mail. What wonderful families we have. Thanks everyone who helped.Posted by Missy at 8:09 AM 3 comments
