Allen in the Tribune and a Police Chase!!!

This past week the Salt Lake Tribune contacted Centerville P.D. about the cost of living in Davis County vs. The lack of pay for the officers. The Chief called Allen in and gave him the reporters phone number and told him to call her back and talk to her. Yesterday they took a picture of him in front of our neighborhood and assured him that they would make the background fuzzy so people couldn't tell where we lived. I really hope they do that, I don't want crazy people showing up here. The article is suppose to be in the paper sometime this week.

Now to the Police Chase! If you watched the news last night there was a story about a guy that got into a lady's truck with her in it and forced her out with a gun. It was in the parking lot of a Kmart in Layton. The Dispatch announced the description and for all officers to be on the lookout. Allen waited a couple of minutes and then drove over to the on ramp and parked. The guy could only go North to Ogden or South to Salt Lake...Not a lot of options for him. Just then the truck goes speeding past him. Allen was at a dead stop so he sped off after him. He caught up to him and when the truck realized Allen was chasing him he really took off. He got up in the emergency lane and Allen said that he really pushed it then and a huge cloud of dirt and debris went flying up in the air. The guy took the 5th South Exit and headed west towards our neck of the woods. Allen said on Redwood Road he hit speeds of 115 mph. The light at Redwood Road and 2600 S. Was red and this maniac (the other guy, not Allen) went flying right through it. Luckily no one was there and no one got hurt. Allen of course stopped and at that point the Administration told him to "terminate" the chase, too dangerous. The whole time Allen was chasing him he kept hoping that he would crash and the chase would be over, then he thought...If he has a gun it could end up in a shoot out. He was pretty hyped up all night long on an adrenaline high. They did end up finding the truck and they know who the guy is, but he is still out there. Maybe I can talk Allen into writing some comments on here when he gets home tonight.
